Location Comparison

Practice OwnerExecutive AdministratorRegional Manager·5 min read·Updated March 2026
This feature is available on Growth tier and above (1+ locations). Solo tier clients see a single-location view.

How to view all locations in a single dashboard

The Location Comparison view is available to practices on the Growth tier and above that have more than one location configured. Navigate to the Locations section from the main navigation to access this view. The location dashboard displays every practice location in a single consolidated view, with each location shown as a card containing its current billing total, target, status indicator, number of active providers, and trend direction.

Locations are sorted by performance relative to target by default, with the highest-performing locations listed first. You can also sort by total billed revenue, by number of providers, or alphabetically by location name. The time period toggle (weekly, monthly, annual) at the top of the page applies to all location cards simultaneously.

How to compare revenue performance across locations

Each location card shows a visual bar representing the percentage of target achieved for the selected period. This makes it easy to scan across locations and identify which sites are performing well and which are falling short. The bar fills with green when a location is ahead of target, yellow when on track, and red when behind.

Click on any location card to drill into that location's detail view. The detail view shows a breakdown of every provider at that location, their individual billing totals and targets, and the location's billing trend over the past 12 weeks. From this detail view, you can also access individual provider profiles and modify provider targets.

How to identify locations above or below target

CareIncite uses the same three-status system for locations as it does for the main dashboard and provider views. Each location card displays a status indicator: green for ahead of target, yellow for on track, and red for behind target. These indicators update in real time as billing data flows in.

To quickly isolate underperforming locations, use the status filter at the top of the location dashboard. Select "Behind" to show only locations that are currently below their target pace. This is particularly useful for Regional Managers overseeing multiple sites who need to prioritize their attention.

The trend indicator on each location card shows whether that location's billing is trending up or down compared to the previous period. A location that is currently behind target but trending upward may need less immediate intervention than one that is behind and trending downward.

How to set location-specific targets

Each location can have its own revenue target independent of the practice-wide target. To set a location-specific target, go to Settings, then Locations, and select the location you want to configure. Enter a weekly revenue target for that location. Monthly and annual targets are derived from the weekly figure, similar to how provider targets work.

Location targets are separate from provider targets. The location target represents the total expected revenue from that site, while each provider within that location has their own individual target. If the sum of your provider targets at a location does not match the location target, CareIncite will display a warning in the location settings to help you reconcile the numbers.

If you do not set a location-specific target, CareIncite will calculate the location's target by summing the weekly targets of all providers assigned to that location. Setting an explicit location target overrides this calculation.

Frequently Asked Questions

I only have one location. Is the comparison view still useful?
The location comparison view is designed for multi-location practices. If you have only one location, you will see it displayed as a single card. The main dashboard and provider views will be more useful for your day-to-day monitoring. The location comparison becomes valuable when you add a second location.
Can Regional Managers see all locations or only their assigned locations?
Regional Managers see only the locations assigned to them. When a Regional Manager opens the location comparison view, it displays only their assigned sites. They do not have visibility into locations managed by other Regional Managers or locations not in their assignment.
How is a location's billing total calculated?
A location's billing total is the sum of all billing entries attributed to that location for the selected time period. If a provider works at multiple locations, only the billing entries tied to a specific location count toward that location's total.
